Ecology Ottawa Events

1. The 2015 Ecology Ottawa "Winter Holiday Eco Gala" takes place on November 26, 2015  at the St. Elias Banquet Centre, 750 Ridgewood Ave, beginning at 5:30 pm.

Guest speaker will be former Parliamentary Budget Officer Kevin Page. The evening features a four course dinner, a silent auction, and a great opportunity to connect with people.

For tickets and more information, please go to www.ecologyottawa.ca. If you would like to join a table with other people from our community, please let a Board member know, or contact RHPOA by email.

2. Ecology Ottawa is promoting a Family-Friendly March on Parliament Hill  on November 29th, 2015 to demonstrate support for the Prime Minister in addressing climate change at the Paris Convention. The march is being promoted by several environmental groups and is expected to be well-attended, with bus-loads of people expected to arrive from as far away as Windsor and Quebec City.  The recent People’s Climate March in New York City attracted approximately 400,000 people and was reported (by a local attendee) as an exciting experience to be among so many people expressing a common view.

If you'd like to attend, please CLICK HERE to pre-register on Ecology Ottawa's website.

Re-Naming of Rockcliffe Airbase

Canada Lands Company has announced the name chosen for the proposed community to be developed at the former Rockcliffe Airbase site:

Wateridge Village at Rockcliffe

We're told that the name is intended to invoke “the natural physical features of the beautiful Rockcliffe Lands site”, and has been given a logo to “serve as a visual reminder of the connections between land, water and community at Rockcliffe”.

Canada Lands asks us to “sit tight”  for a Wateridge Village website in the very near future.
