Ovation Productions is a locally owned and woman-led professional musical theatre production company that was founded in 2018 by Tanya Guimond, a proud resident of our neighbourhood of Rothwell Heights. Since 2018, Ovation Productions has been an essential part of helping to build Ottawa’s professional theatre scene with their dedication to creating professional opportunities for artists, and providing paid opportunities for performers, designers, creatives, and technicians. 

This fall, Ovation is thrilled to present Into the Woods, an award-winning musical with music and lyrics by the late, legendary Stephen Sondheim.

This production showcases a mix of local talent and performers from across Canada, including those with Broadway experience and award-winning credentials. Into The Woods weaves together beloved fairy tales and explores the consequences of wishes and the challenges of life’s unpredictable journey.

With standout performances, an unforgettable story, and a moving score, this production promises to be a captivating experience. Audiences will follow characters like Cinderella, the Baker, and Little Red Riding Hood as their stories intertwine in the woods. While the show features these well-known characters, it also delves into many mature themes, making it especially engaging for adult audiences. We recommend the production for ages 8 and up, with parental discretion advised.

Running from October 23 to November 3, 2024, at Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe, this production offers a rare chance to see a world-class performance right here in Ottawa. Parking is free and plentiful and every seat in the theatre offers excellent views of the playing space.
