Inter-Provincial Bridge Study Back in Public View

May 27, 2012

Public Consultation is About to Begin.

Phase 2B of the Study - Round 2:

The public will have the opportunity to review the results of Round 2 of the Study in a June 2012 Public Consultation Program.  Information provided at this stage includes the functional designs of the Technically Recommended Alignment (TRA) within each corridor and the steps taken to develop the TRA.

The objective of round 2 was to solicit the public’s input into the evaluation factors, their weightings, and the functional design of each alignment in each Corridor, as well as mitigation measures to fit with identified community values.  The public consultation process presented here will also allow an opportunity for residents to suggest additional criteria and their perspectives on the importance of hese criteria in the decision-making process. All information will be contained on panels displayed at the consultation sessions; there will be no formal presentations. Study team members will be at both sessions to answer questions and provide background.   The objective of the Round 2 Consultation will be to solicit the public’s input into the evaluation factors (definition and weighting) and to refine the functional design of each alignment in each Corridor and mitigation measures to fit with the identified community values.
