UPDATE | MAY 7, 2020: Ottawa Fire Services Lifts Burn Ban; Permits Still Needed
April 4, 2020: The City of Ottawa has issued a city-wide ban on all open air fires — even for those who have a permit.
The ban, which took effect on April 1, applies to all open-air fires.
Barbecues are allowed, as well as natural gas, propane and oil outdoor fireplaces. Wood or other solid fuel outdoor fireplaces are NOT permitted.
